Connect with nature and wildlife at this annual Earth Day event—April 20 through 22, 2019.
During Party for the Planet, enjoy special opportunities to explore the natural wonders of Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, thanks to a variety of family-friendly park offerings that include:
Look for the larger-than-life Adélie penguin sculpture—there’s a lot more to it than immediately meets the eye!
In celebration of the April 17 debut of the Disneynature film Penguins, an 11-foot-tall plastic sculpture made from recycled marine debris will be on display in the Oasis, at the entrance of Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park.
Created by the nonprofit organization WashedAshore.org, this work of art is designed to inspire Guests to keep our oceans and waterways clear of plastic pollution. Guests can start making an impact of their own during Earth month (April 1-30), by pledging to reduce the amount of single-use plastics they use each day. Guests can do this by choosing reusable bags, skipping the straw and helping to protect penguins and other wildlife around the world by supporting the Disney Conservation Fund wherever their logo is found.
Want to do more? Be sure to see the Disneynature film Penguins during opening week—for every ticket sold, Disneynature will make a donation to the Wildlife Conservation Network to help protect penguins around the globe.
Watch Steve the Adélie penguin join millions of fellow males in the icy Antarctic spring on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family. None of it comes easily for him, especially considering he's targeted by everything from killer whales to leopard seals, who unapologetically threaten his happily ever after.
From the filmmaking team that brought the world Bears and Chimpanzee, Disneynature's all-new feature film, Penguins opens in theaters nationwide on Wednesday, April 17—just in time for Earth Day 2019!
