Upon reopening, theme parks, Disney Resort hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences and other offerings may be modified and will be limited in capacity and subject to limited availability or closure, based on direction from health experts and government officials to promote physical distancing.

Additionally, attractions, experiences (such as shows, parades and fireworks), services and amenities may have limited availability or may remain closed. We will provide more information as it becomes available. Please also see our policies regarding cancellations by Guests.

Our focus remains on the health and well-being of the entire Disney community—including the Cast Members who are caring for and securing our parks and Resorts during the closure. We’re currently evaluating new and enhanced safety measures to help us all stay well. Learn more about these measures.

Below, you’ll find information on impacts to current and upcoming plans. Please continue to check back for additional updates.

OPERATIONAL UPDATES

Theme Parks & Water Parks

Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Resort hotels are currently closed. Magic Kingdom park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park will begin a phased reopening on July 11—with Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopening on July 15.

When the theme parks reopen, attendance will be limited in alignment with CDC guidance on physical distancing. Some experiences that draw large group gatherings—such as parades and nighttime spectaculars—will return at a later date. In addition, “high-touch” experiences such as makeover opportunities, playgrounds and Character Greetings will remain temporarily unavailable, but Characters will still be in our parks to entertain and delight you during your visit.

Additionally, park attendance will be managed through a new theme park reservation system. To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date are required.

Learn more about reopening plans at Walt Disney World Resort.

Resorts

Disney Vacation Club properties at Walt Disney World Resort and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will begin to reopen to Members and Guests on June 22.

Disney Vacation Club properties in Vero Beach, Florida and Hilton Head, South Carolina will open to Members and Guests on June 15.

Existing dining reservations, experience bookings, Disney dining plans and FastPass+ selections will be cancelled. In addition, upon reopening, Extra Magic Hours will be temporarily suspended.

Plans to support required physical distancing as well as enhanced cleaning measures, along with a number of other safety and cleanliness protocols, will be implemented as part of this planned phased reopening.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and miniature golf locations at Walt Disney World Resort are temporarily closed until further notice.

Golf and FootGolf operations (other than miniature golf) remain available on their regular schedule.

MODIFICATIONS, CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Tickets

When the parks reopen, park attendance will be managed through a new park reservation system. To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date is required. More details about this new reservation system will be available soon.

Existing dining reservations, experience bookings, Disney dining plans and FastPass+ selections will be cancelled. In addition, upon reopening, Extra Magic Hours will be temporarily suspended.

At this time, new ticket sales and new annual pass sales are temporarily paused. Current Annual Passholders may still renew their pass. Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make reservation requests before new tickets and annual passes are sold. Additional details will be shared with existing ticket holders soon.

Please note that information below applies for Guests who purchased their tickets directly with Walt Disney Travel Company International. If you did not book directly, please contact your travel agent or tour operator.

Disney Ultimate Tickets (UK & Ireland)
Unused or partially used multi-day theme park tickets with usage window significantly impacted by park closure, purchased through June 11, 2020 with a valid use period beginning March 12, 2020 through December 31, 2020, will automatically be extended to use any date through September 30, 2021. Your ticket will not be valid for admission after that date. Alternatively, you may cancel your Theme Park ticket reservation and receive a full refund.

Date-Specific Theme Park Tickets (Europe)
Unused or partially used multi-day theme park tickets with usage window significantly impacted by park closure, purchased through June 6, 2020 with a valid use period beginning March 12, 2020 or later, will automatically be extended to use any date through September 26, 2021. Your ticket will not be valid for admission after that date. Alternatively, you may cancel your Theme Park ticket reservation and receive a full refund.

Special Event Tickets
While assessing another fall special event, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, we determined that many of its hallmarks – stage shows, parades and fireworks – are unable to take place in this new, unprecedented environment. With that in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Additionally, Disney H2O Glow Nights, the nighttime special ticket event at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, will not take place for the remainder of 2020. Guests who have already bought tickets to these events will be assisted with refunds over the coming weeks.

Disney Resort Rooms and Packages

Please note that information below applies for Guests who purchased their Resort stay or package directly with Walt Disney Travel Company International. If you did not book directly, please contact your travel agent or tour operator.

At this time, we are temporarily pausing Disney Resort hotel reservations for 2020 arrivals so we can focus on Guests with existing reservations (Disney Vacation Club Members can still make new reservations). We will resume new hotel reservations after that period of time.

To provide additional flexibility, we are waiving all Disney-imposed amendment and cancellation fees. If you wish to cancel your reservation, we will provide a full refund.

Reopening Policy Options

As the Walt Disney World theme parks prepare to reopen, we see a lot of Passholder enthusiasm to get back to the magic. We are eager to see our cherished Passholders too. We also recognize that Park reservations will change the way that many of our Passholders prefer to enjoy their pass. With that in mind, we are offering these alternative options to manage your pass.

If you are an Annual Passholder that has paid in full, your options include:

  • You will receive a one month extension to your pass (unless you choose one of the alternative options below). This additional month will automatically be processed and visible in your My Disney Experience account in October 2020.
  • Alternatively, and in lieu of the one month extension, Passholders who have paid in full may choose to cancel their annual pass and receive a partial refund.

If you are an Annual Passholder on the monthly payment plan, your options include:

  • You will receive an additional one month extension to your pass (unless you choose the alternative option below). This additional month will automatically be processed and visible in your My Disney Experience account in October 2020. Please note that monthly payments are scheduled to resume with park opening on July 11, 2020.
  • Alternatively, and in lieu of the additional month extension, Passholders on the monthly payment plan may choose to cancel their annual pass and waive their monthly payments due after August 11, 2020. Any payments made between July 11, 2020 and August 11, 2020 will be retroactively refunded for those that select this option and all future payments would be stopped.

We will send information in early July with details on how to take action on these options.

Other Policy Updates And Refunds

If you are an Annual Passholder who has paid in full:
All active Walt Disney World Resort theme park and water park Annual Passes will be extended for the number of days the parks are closed. The new expiration date will be reflected on the Annual Passholder’s account prior to the reopening of the parks.

As an alternative, and in lieu of an extension of their passes, Passholders who have paid in full may choose to receive a partial refund for the park closure period. To request this alternative option, we ask that you contact V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at +1 (407) 939-7277. We do anticipate heavy call volume and appreciate your patience as we answer all inquiries.

If you are an Annual Passholder on the monthly payment plan:
On April 5, 2020, we automatically stopped and will waive monthly payments due while the theme parks are closed. We will also retroactively refund payments made between March 14 through April 4, 2020. Payments will resume on the Passholder’s regularly scheduled payment dates once the parks reopen. Please note, pass expiration dates will not be extended and passes will expire upon their originally scheduled expiration dates.

As an alternative, Guests who are paying for Walt Disney World Annual Passes using our monthly payment program may choose to have their monthly payments postponed starting with payments due April 5, 2020 through the park closure period, and then resumed on the Passholder’s regularly scheduled payment date once the parks reopen. Postponed payments will be collected in the months following the end of the Passholder’s currently scheduled payment term. The pass will be extended the number of days the parks are closed. The new expiration date will be reflected on the Annual Passholder’s account prior to the reopening of the theme parks. To request this alternative option, we ask that you contact V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at +1 (407) 939-7277. We do anticipate heavy call volume and appreciate your patience as we answer all inquiries.

Our Annual Passholders are some of our most loyal Guests, and we stand ready to help during this incredibly uncertain time. If you have any questions, please contact V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at +1 (407) 939-7277. Or, email us for assistance.

The package price was adjusted accordingly. You received a refund if you have already paid in full or a reduction in amount due if you have not yet made final payment.
